Finding joy

Friday night, I had a moment of vulnerability in front of a couple of my girls as we discussed motherhood. From dealing with a disrespectful team member and other shenanigans at work, to watching my diva grandmother slowly fade to Alzheimer’s Disease, it doesn’t take much to get the tear ducts working the past two weeks. After that moment of vulnerability, I shook it off, and went back to kickin it and having a ball that night.

And Saturday night.

All year, I have been intentional on finding joy, in spite of the sadness and pain. I’ve written about that a few times. I made sure 2018 wasn’t going to be like 2017. It was better than I could have imagined. The pics in my phone and on social media are definitely proof of the dope ass year I had.

So, tonight as 2018 comes to a close, I’ll be raising a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon to 2018 being a great year, and hoping those good vibes continue in 2019.

Happy New Year!
